A Safety Flag (also known as a clear bolt indicator or empty chamber indicator) is a brightly colored device inserted into the chamber of a firearm to indicate that it is unloaded and safe. |

Score History is Scopos' technology that links all competition and practice scores together for each marksmen, connecting them to their Scopos accounts. Scores are linked to a marksman using Orion, Athena, or manually using Rezults. Once stored, scores may be securely retrieved using Rezults or programmatically using Scopos' REST API. |

A set of shots that are fired together, continuously, and all within a set time. Often used in pistol shooting with rapid fire series of five shots, or timed fire series of five shots. |

A Spectator Display, or sometimes simply called a Display, is a presentation device that displays competition squadding, results, information, advertisements, and more to spectators at a competition. Scopos offers two Spectator Display products, the MM100 and MM200 (which is also a Range Timer). |

A Stage Style is part of the Reconfigurable Rulebook. They unique defines a portion of an Event Style. A Stage Style has the characteristics that all shots fired within it are: 1.Shot continuously 2.Have the same equipment class 3.Have the same shooting position 4.Shot on the same target (or distant proportional target) 5.Shot under the same time constraints And usually 6.Have the same distance of fire. |

A Start is one participant competing in one top level event. If a competition has more than one event, for example air rifle and air pistol, and a participant competes in both, then that would be two starts. |

Is the style of final where the top eight athletes after qualification compete in the final, and the winner of the match determined exclusively by scores in the final. |

The Statistical Officer is responsible for all phases of results production during a competition. Statistical Officer is directly responsible to the Competition Director. 1 The Statistical Officer is often the same person running the Orion software during a competition. |

The second highest Event Type within a Course of Fire tree. Usually refers to a portion of a course of fire where records are kept or awards may be given out. Although it is common for a Stage to have only one Stage Style this is not a rule. The Dewar for example has two stage styles, the National Match Course in pistol has three. |

A set of shots that are grouped together, fired consecutively, and all from the same Stage Style. Usually used for both display purposes and for tie breaking. Most disciplines have strings of 10 shots. |

An synchronous competition is one where all the Participants are shooting either at nearly identical times. Almost all qualification rounds of competitions are shot asynchronously. Finals are almost always shot synchronously. |
