Any mechatronics device that scores shots using computational methods. Scoring is not necessarily done in near real time. |
Electronic Scoring Target |
An Electronic Scoring Target is a mechatronics device that scores shots that hit it, or pass through it, in near real time. The mechanism that scores the shots differ based on design, but commonly used are acoustics, optical, or photography. |
EST |
Acronym for Electronic Scoring Target. |
E-Target |
An “e-target” is an aberrant term meaning the same thing as an Electronic Scoring Target or EST. “EST” is the correct term and is more commonly used. |
Event |
1.Reconfigurable Rulebook object that defines a real world event in a marksmanship competition. Includes events, stages, series, and strings. Does not includes individual shots (as these are Singulars). 2.An Event Type designating the top most Event Composite in an Event Tree. |
Event Composite |
An abstract term that represents both Events from a COURSE OF FIRE and Singulars from a COURSE OF FIRE. Event Composites can have one parent Event Composite and multiple children Event Composites. |
Event Style |
An EVENT STYLE is one of the high level Reconfigurable Rulebook definition types. An EVENT STYLE defines a type of shooting, for example "Three-Position Air Rifle" or "Air Pistol." |
Event Tree |
An Event Tree describes the Event Composites from a COURSE OF FIRE in a tree like structure. At the top of the tree is one Event Composite with Event Type "Event." At the bottom of the tree are (likely multiple) Event Composites of Event Type Singulars (usually representing singular shots). |
Event Type |
The type of Event. •Event is the top most Event in an Event Tree. •Stage is where all descendent Events are shot using the same Stage Style. •String is a series of shots, usually 10, shot continuously. •Series is a series of shots, usually 5, shot continuously. |
