Using Auto-Score for Many Athletes

"Auto Score" is Orion's technology to scan paper targets, assign them to the correct athlete, and then score the targets. There are lots of different ways to use Auto Score, which come down to how you wish to assign competitor numbers, preparing and marking targets, and finally scanning targets.

Use Case

Using Auto-Score for many athletes works best when using:

Multiple athletes in a match.

Barcode labels.

A scanner with an automatic document feeder.

Multi-bull targets from numerous shooters.

Procedure

To use Auto-Score for a group of athletes:

1.Select the 'Match Scoring' tab.

2.Load the scanner with a set of targets.
Refer to Orienting Targets for Your Scanner to learn how targets are to be fed into the scanner

3.Click the Auto-Score button autoScoreButton from the menu bar.
Orion will scan the target, load it into the program, assign the target to the athlete, and score. Depending on the speed of the Orion workstation, this may take several seconds.

Initially the new targets will appear highlighted in green in the Target list on the left hand side of the screen. Green highlighting indicates these targets are not yet scored.

To see the list of imported targets, click the plus sign ([+]) next to Targets, then the plus sign next to Relay 1, and finally the plus sign next to the athlete's names.

4.Once the initial target is scored (turns from green to white), load the scanner with a set of unscored targets, and re-click the Auto-Score button. Repeat until all targets are scored.
