A Team League is a set of teams that compete against each other in games. A game is a competition between two teams. The complete set of games is called the season. Each game produces a winning team and a losing team. The winner of the league is the team with the best win-loss record during the season.
Every league has to have a League Administrator. The League Administrator first responsibility is to create the league and schedule games. After this step the league administrator has on going responsibilities to set the game type (local or virtual) and declare a winner for each game. The steps to do so are described below.
•The League Administrator and each participating team has to be an Orion for Clubs or Orion Scorecard customer and have the Result Center enabled.
•A league is created and games scheduled.
Releasing the Game means you are allowing the home and away team to participate. Releasing also allows you to specify if the Game is local or virtual. The game type must be set for all games in a league. Users will not be able to download a league game until this step is complete.
1.Log into your Orion account on go to your Customer Information page.
2.Click the List of Leagues link on the left hand side.
3.Under Leagues you Administer select the league to manage.
4.Under Schedule select a game.
5.Check that the start date and end date of the game are correct. Users will not be able to report scores past the end date.
6.Select 'Save as Virtual Game' or 'Save as Local Game.'
oA local game is when the home and away team are competing at the same range at the same time, with the home team responsible for using Orion to score all targets and upload scores to the Result Center.
oA virtual game is when the home team and away team are competing at different ranges, and each team is responsible for using Orion to score and upload only their scores to the Result Center.
7.Repeat for each game in the schedule. Its recommended not to set the game type until the day before a game is to be played. This way a user can not accidentally download a game early.
Declaring a game winner means deciding who won and lost each game. This step should only be done once both teams have reported scores or the end date of the game has past.
1.Log into your Orion account on go to your Customer Information page.
2.Click the List of Leagues link on the left hand side.
3.Under Leagues you Administer select the league to manage.
4.Under Schedule select a game.
oA winning team may only be declared for games that have had their game type set.
5.Review the scores from both the home team and away team.
6.Click on 'Declare as Winning Team' under either the Home Team or the Away Team as appropriate. This will simultaneously declare the other team as the losing team.
7.Repeat for each game in the schedule.
