There are many reasons. Athena was designed in the United States for local clubs and schools, and our engineers understood this unique market. With this we were able to design it to be affordable from the ground up. This included, for example, reliance on commercial off the shelf parts wherever possible.

The better question to ask is, "why are other EST manufacturers so expensive?"
