Each Athena component (with the exception of Orion), at its core, is a Linux computer. This includes the EST Targets, Monitors, Displays, and the Network Manager.

•The NC100, DoW100, and MM100 are all Raspberry Pi devices, running Raspberry Pi OS (previously called Raspbian). The Raspberry Pi OS is a variant of the Debian Linux OS, and is designed to work specifically for the Raspberry Pi hardware. Beyond the standard build, these devices have also been installed with the Apache web server, OpenCV, and AWS command line interface.

• The Network Manager is a Linux server running Ubuntu. Beyond the standard ubuntu build, the Network Manager comes installed with the Apache web server, NTP server, ssh, nmap, AWS command line interface, and AWS Greengrass core server.
